When are insulation boards required?

By preventing energy loss into the subfloor, a greater proportion of energy is transferred upwards into your floor. This means less energy is required to reach your desired temperature, heating your room quicker. As less energy is used, running costs are significantly reduced in the long run.

This greater efficiency makes it ideal for use in larger rooms such as conservatories which demand more energy to heat the room. It is also required in rooms where you are using underfloor heating as your sole heating source, heating the room more efficiently and economically.
