Radiators heat the surrounding air by convection from one point of intense heat. As heat rises, radiators have to operate at a much higher temperature to reach the desired temperature at floor level, and ultimately lead to hot and cold spots in your room.

Meanwhile, underfloor heating produces radiant heat, warming you and other objects in the room directly from the ground.
