Benefits of underfloor heating

CAN UNDERFLOOR HEATING REPLACE RADIATORS?

Electric underfloor heating can be used as either a floor heating system in tandem with a traditional heating system, or in the correct circumstances completely replace it, offering greater living space in your rooms and further benefits to your home as mentioned below.

Radiators heat the surrounding air by convection from one point of intense heat. As heat rises, radiators have to operate at a much higher temperature to reach the desired temperature at floor level, and ultimately lead to hot and cold spots in your room.

Furthermore, this circulation of air can lead to the spread of dust and airborne particles around your room, which may aggravate allergies or any breathing difficulties in those with respiratory diseases such as asthma.

Meanwhile, underfloor heating produces radiant heat, warming you and other objects in the room directly from the ground. Since the heating surface is much larger than that of radiators, a much lower temperature is required to reach the same level of heat transfer, while an even distribution of heat is achieved. This results in the cost of electric underfloor heating being significantly lower than radiators once in operation due to the greater efficiency of heat transfer.

Environmental Benefits of Underfloor Heating

Due to the greater efficiency of our heating systems it’s possible to reduce the temperature by 2°C without affecting the level of comfort within the room. This results in reducing energy loss by 20%, providing both cost savings and environmental benefits with underfloor heating.

Additionally the need for gas or fuels is removed, as is the need to route emissions out of the building. The design process is therefore considerably simplified and the environment created is clean, safe and 100% efficient.

Suffer from any allergies?

As underfloor heating does not heat your room through convection, circulation of dust particles around the room is significantly reduced – a welcome relief for anyone who suffers from allergies or breathing difficulties.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING MAINTENANCE

While the initial installation cost of underfloor heating could be larger than that of a traditional radiator, once our Underfloor Heating systems are installed there is no need for any kind of maintenance, saving you money in the long run and allowing you to forget about any sudden malfunctions that radiators are prone to.
